The Cabaret Lounge at the Pride Party is shaping up to be one helluva show, long time favourites like Club West mixing it up with some of the newer kids on the block, like The Drag King Kinksters. OiP asked the Kingsters to tell us a little about themselves. Here’s what they fired back…

Rhett Butt-lar – aka Kitty Hawkins

Rhett Butt-lar’s Drag-King Debut will take place on the night of the Pride party.  Kitty Hawkins has been performing in clubs and the occasional Genderfuck ball over the last 12months. A shameless gothtwat and a total whore for Broadway, cabaret and burlesque, she likes all things camp and spooky! She comes to us with a furious background in queer activism, being notoriously responsible for causing a student strike in a certain well to do private girls college. She is currently NUS West Queer Officer – and was last seen draped in a rainbow flag, cavorting about on the steps of parliament house to ‘I Will Survive.’ She has been told to ‘tone down her outlandish behaviour’ – but frankly, she couldn’t give a damn!

GenderfuckBel – aka Belinda Cooper

An infamous gender out-law, wanted in several states and desired in every bedroom, Belinda Cooper has been scandalising audiences and causing general chaos with hir confronting Genderfuck performances for well over four years. This ferocious gender terrorist has trodden the boards at the university taverns of WA (with the exception of Murdoch University, where the petrified and rather dumbfounded security guards escorted Ms. Cooper and hir entourage off campus… sie suspects it might have been the pink strap-on… )

Returning to us after a year out of the limelight (due to an unfortunate bout of cancer induced chemotherapy) Belinda is twice as fabulous and slightly more radioactive than before…

As a genderqueer kinkmonster who likes hir leather a lot, Belle is influenced by anything that is confronting, challenging, tantalising and cheeky.

The Kinkster entourage consists of fellow activists and drag-enthusiasts, ex-lovers and unfortunate housemates that got roped into these crazy shenanigans. (And we mean this literally – Queen Bella is very creative with ten metres of rope… )
