STAND by your man

With a plethora of young design talent emerging from our design schools here in Perth and hitting the best boutiques, it can be hard to separate the good design talent from the truly great.

One label that is rapidly proving itself is STAND International. The label, started in Las Vegas in 2003, is the creation of young designer Paul Fields whose vision was to create a street-wear label for men that makes a positive difference in the world. STAND’s popularity as a ‘Stand up for what you believe in’ label has seen many notable US bands, and even some well known celebrities, wearing the label.

Paul returned to Perth in 2005 and headed back to school to do further study in design and research. He now has his label stocked in some of the top clothes stores (see the box for a list of stockists in WA).

Finding a market in Perth for designs is always a big challenge (despite a lack of designers concentrating on wearable menswear here). STAND is head and shoulders above some of the more eclectic designers around, which makes a difference in the Perth market where we all like to look great but have issue with clothing that is too left of field.

STAND is well known for its great fit, eye catching graphic tees and attention-to-detail garments.  With first-rate tailoring, STAND’s clothes are an ideal fit and the label promises to develop further as it captures new markets, new believers, and makes a positive difference in the world.

Paul’s spring/summer range is a collection of Roman-Greco inspired prints and design styles exploring facets of architecture, symbols and lifestyle with overtones of religious nuance and subliminal messages. These all meld together to create an eminently wearable range of clothes for the hot Perth summer.
