The A List

At long last, the sun is not disappearing before most people have left work, and the good weather has brought some great live tunes to WA…

There’s a reason ‘Closer to Fine’ was the song the L Word ladies came out to in Season 1 of the show, and girls who like girls will be out in force for the Indigo Girls at the Fremantle Arts Centre November 2. The following weekend, the lady-loving action continues at Fly By Night with Clare Bowditch (she might be married to a man, but the singer-songwriter studied creative writing and musicology in Canada… what lesbian won’t love her?) at Fly By Night on November 9. The ever soulful Renee Geyer makes a return to Fly By Night a must on November 11. The singer-songwriter eye candy is not all for the women this month, as Fremantle Arts Centre hosts some of WA’s finest in its Sonic Sessions, including the Waifs’ Josh Cunningham on November 8. For good pop by a bad boy, Justin ‘he ain’t on the Mickey Mouse club no more’ Timberlake takes over the Burswood Dome on November 9 and 10. Meanwhile, November 11 at Sandalford Winery, Jimmy Barnes headlines A Day on the Green. The Supreme Court Gardens rock through the month with Muse November 10 and Crowded House November 16-17. Get out of bed just before noon on November 18 and catch pop princess Amy Pearson as she plays 3 songs from her new album and signs copies at Mirrabooka Square’s Sunday Trade Event. And for Abba fans (i.e. everyone)? Bjorn Again, the Ultimate Abba Experience play Kings Park Botanical Gardens November 30. Could it get any better? Yes it could – they’ll be supported by the Bee Gees Night Fever. Finally, the crush continues as Missy Higgins returns to WA at the Belvoir Amphitheatre on December 2.
