ROGUE TRADERS – Here Come The Drums, Columbia

Rogue TradersFrom the grinding bump of the first single Voodoo Child it’s clear that the newly recruited singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte is more than a Neighbours’ star who has a wail of a way with pop music. She and her band of DJs-turned-rock stars, led by producer James Ash, know how to mix hard-hitting but catchy tunes full of hard hooks, smoldering sexuality, and an amazing electro-rock vibe. With lyrics like “Drive fast/Don’t crash/Make your money/Make it last, the second single Way To Go is a perfect choice to showcase Rogue Traders’ unabashed pop-punk attitude. While ballads and mid-tempo songs may not be Rogue Traders’ forte, it’s safe to say that the band pulls it off quite well in tracks In Love Again (inspired by Tears For Fears’ Head Over Heels) and Rescue Me.
