If you’re based in Melbourne or Brisbane and planning a trip to the 2027 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, why not travel on a Virgin Australia Pride Flight?

Now in its seventh consecutive year, Pride Flight will once again bring together LGBTQIA+ community members and allies from across the country to kick off Australia’s largest annual LGBTQIA+ celebration at 35,000 feet. Festivities will continue on the ground in Sydney with a line-up of new pride events hosted by the airline and its venue partners.

The experience includes a party at the departure gate, bottomless beverages, sponsor giveaways, DJ sets and drag entertainment from pride royalty including DJ Harry K, Beverly Kills, Freya Armani, Kora Kurvacious and Karen From Finance.

There’s also the chance to win Virgin Australia flights and holiday packages for the best-dressed guests. In addition, guests receive complimentary VIP entry and three free drinks at the official Pride Flight Landing Party at The Beresford.

As part of the promotion, Virgin Australia will continue its multi-year partnership with The Pinnacle Foundation, with $10,000 from Pride Flight ticket sales supporting educational scholarships for LGBTQIA+ youth. The funding helps provide access to mentoring, education and future opportunities.

Virgin Australia Chief Customer Officer and Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO Andrew Cleary said the airline is proud to continue its support of Pride Flight, which has become a highly anticipated event for the LGBTQIA+ community.

“Pride Flight was a home-grown idea from our people at Virgin Australia, and it’s incredible to see how it has grown into an event that our team, our guests and the community look forward to every year,” Mr Cleary said.

“It’s a great example of what we do best: bringing people together, creating memorable experiences and adding that extra bit of Virgin Australia flair along the way.

“We’re looking forward to making Pride Flight 2027 our biggest yet, with new on-the-ground experiences around the main event and more ways for our guests to celebrate from the moment they step onboard and throughout the weekend.”
