Wining & Dining Extravagance with Lee & Sandro

So another month has passed us by and we promised you all extravagance, and so, here we share with you some moments of extravagance that we have experienced. Because it’s always the small things in which you truly delight…

The View

We truly have a beautiful city. All the ‘small town’ stigma aside, we have available to us some magical, picturesque scenes enveloping our so called ‘sleepy town’ and many of these sites can be enjoyed while savouring some of Perth’s best cuisine. Although there are many spectacular vantage points, for quality food and magnificent views – try Lamonts in East Perth. The reputation is deserved and the river at night is a unique look at our favourite waterway.

The Wine

Margaret River is, like, four hours away; the Swan Valley is forty minute, and when it comes to indulging in wine, there is something to be said about enjoying wine at the cellar door. To speak to the people who make the wine, who – in many cases – have many generations of family invested in every bottle they produce, is the best way to indulge. But we are all busy, so if you can’t get away – Must Wine Bar (predictably) has an impeccable list as does Globe Wine Bar, with Char Char Bull in Freo also worth a mention– we were pleasantly surprised at their list.

The Cuisine

Opinions are often divided when you mention landmark Perth restaurants. So many people, each with their own supposed expert opinions, have all had either extremely positive experiences (or the contrary) about every single, well known, established restaurant in Perth. Opinions aside and for extravagance’s sake, take the time to go to The Loose Box. For first timers, dress your best and enjoy the decadence; for those of us who are returning from a long hiatus, it’s still worth it.

The Cocktails

Love the Luxe! We always enjoy our after dinner drinks at Luxe Bar. Varied clientele aside, catch Luxe at the right time and the drinks are prepared well and the experience is an enjoyable one. Long a friendly place, cocktails at Luxe cap off a fine meal.

The Service

We recently had a wonderful experience at The Pony Club. The food was great and so was the overall presentation, but the one thing we really enjoyed was the level of service. We were treated so very well, and having dined there just once before we were recognized, ushered to our table with grace where we were served impeccably. To impress with service takes something special and the team at The Pony Club really know how to make a simple pleasure extravagant.

Now we feel it’s time to stretch our wings for our next offering and head for the coast. We are going to dine seaside and leave you with a salty taste in your mouth… from the salty sea air of course.

Sandro: Chef by trade, connoisseur by nature and the food side of this dynamic duo, Sandro has worked extensively in kitchens throughout Perth and Europe.

Lee: Service, presentation and style are his passions and his profession. Lee is the front of house guru who draws on his wealth of knowledge to let you know what to expect from your dining experience.
