Getting on the bill? We were actually approached by the Sydney Symphony to do some shows in December at the Opera House. Baz Archer [director of the Sydney Symphony] helped coordinate to extend the tour. Now we have shows with the West Australian Symphony and the Melbourne Symphony in February… Through putting that live show together and starting to think about it, we thought ‘we want to have something we can really remember this by, so let’s do an album.’ – Toby
Most looking forward to about the show? Everybody tells us the thing about coming out here is the venue – King’s Park. –Mike
One thing we are looking forward to with the West Australian Symphony is that they can play loud enough to get above the ducks. We were told that Ben Lee did some show and apparently the ducks were making quite a racket. –Toby
Best summer concert story? One of the most memorable outdoor concerts we remember doing was at a theme park in Sydney called Wonderland. This particular day it was the most stinking hot day. We were obviously really active on stage, and we came off stage and literally almost passed out. We were laying on the dressing room floor just lightheaded. I don’t think the symphony show is going to be quite that exhausting… -Toby
Personal favourite festival? They do a series in Sydney in the Domain – Symphony in the Park and Opera in the Park and Jazz in the Park. When I was a little boy I was a boy soprano and was actually in Magic Flute in Opera in the Park in Sydney and it is always a great thing to do. –Mike
Three things every punter needs? Flyswatter, their voices, their dancing shoes… and a sense of fun.
