OUTDANCE – Ever wanted to learn to trip the light fantastic? Well, take those first steps to making this a reality by coming along to OUTDANCE – the same sex dance class, every Tuesday night from 6.30pm at the Mt Hawthorn Community Centre. Learn a range of great Latin and Modern ballroom dances in a supportive environment. Newcomers always welcome, and there are options ranging from one-week to year-long. G&L BADMINTON – Set to celebrate its third birthday in 2009, G&L Badminton continues to provide a friendly alternative to pubbing and clubbing. Social matches are held at Alma Venville Recreation Centre, corner 8th Ave and Guildford Rd in Maylands, every Wednesday night 7.30-9.30pm. WAWFL – With the Western Australian Women’s Football League entering its 22nd year of competition, 2009 promises to be a stellar year. 2008 saw the introduction of two divisions in the WAWFL, making the league even more dynamic with 11 teams participating. 2009 proves to be even stronger than last year, with numbers sure to increase. WAWFL will also get to see the best of the best fight it out on the field when the State titles are hosted in Perth. Stay tuned for further information in the coming editions.

WA WANDERERS BUSHWALKERS – WA Wanderers Bushwalkers formed in 2008 by active gay men who like the outdoors. Numbers increased in recent months and more are expected in 2009 as new members share their favourite hikes with us. Hikes vary from easy to hard and all ages are welcome.

WA Wanderers first 2009 hike, on January 18, is a 5km coastal hike near Rockingham with a swim along the way. Past hikes have included Bold Park, Eagles View Trail, Bibbulman Track, Canning River loop, and Yanchep National Park. SAPPHIC TRAMPERS – The 2009 Sapphic Trampers line-up offers much more than just going for a walk with a great bunch of lesbians. Come join them as they snorkel in Yanchep, climb the ‘mountains’ of the Darling Ranges, paddle to Penguin Island or down the Moore River, do the Eagle Walk or trace the remains of historical timber rail lines through the jarrah forest, cycle along the coast or through the forests of the Great Western Woodlands. They have something planned something to appeal to most tastes and abilities, from leisurely weekends away and social strolls along the beach to strenuous multi-day Bibbulmum Track hikes for more experienced walkers.
