PRIDEFEST Events

Last month we highlighted our top six events to look forward to during PRIDEFEST month, if none of those tickled your fancy, here are a few other events that shouldn’t be missed.

Freedom Centre Open Day

Each year the Freedom Centre holds it’s Open Day – from 12-5pm you can take part in a plethora of activities that introduce you to the organisation. Donate a gold coin to gauge on tea, coffee and cake whilst taking in the photo exhibition, videos and podcast booth. Head down on Saturday October 27.

26UP

The WA AIDS Council is offering a social event for same-sex attracted men aged 26 and over. 26UP offers the opportunity for like-minded men to get together in a fun and upbeat environment. The group meets up one Friday of the month at a different restaurant location in the city. If you’re interested in taking part contact the WA AIDS Council.

Pridefest Laneway Event

LGBTIQ Youth – get excited. This free event of live and local music is not to be missed. Pop round the side of the Daily Planet in Mt Lawley for all the fun. The event will be running from 4-7pm and is a drug and alcohol free zone on October 21. Anyone aged 13-25 is welcome!

Pridefest Youth Event

Laneway isn’t the only youth event to mark in your diary. YMCA HQ in Leederville is throwing a shindig for the under 18 members of the rainbow community. You have to pay to go to this one ($15) so start emptying your piggy bank. The event will run from 6-10pm on Saturday October 27. This event is also drug and alcohol free.

Pridefest GD

Promoting Gender Diversity is really important to the OUTinPerth team so we think this is a great event. Head to Honey Lounge on Friday the 19th of October and pay five bucks to celebrate gender diversity in all its facets. Doors open at 6.30pm through till 9pm.

Get Frocked

Rural folk – head to the Elliot Street Bar in Bunbury at 7.30pm on October 19th for a barrelful of entertainment by drag queen Val Nourished. Tickets are $25 for non-members, $20 for members.

Wigstock

For more drag queen fun and a free 18+ event head to bamBoo in Highgate. Perth’s top drag queens will be delivering six straight hours of drag performance. Those featuring include Barbie Q, Feminem and Val Nourished. Doors open at 3pm, October 27.
