SAPPHIC TRAMPERS
This month Sapphic Trampers will be walking The Eagle View track in the picturesque John Forrest National Park. The walk offers three options for different fitness levels and all participants are reminded to wear suitable shoes and clothing, bring sufficient water and food for the day. The walk departs from the Ranger’s Station at 10 am sharp on Saturday, May 9 and a $10 fee per car is required on entry to the national park. G&L BADMINTON
G&L Badminton is a casual and unstructured group who get together every Wednesday night between 7.30 and 9.30 pm to play a at the Alma Venville Recreation Centre, on the corner of Eighth Ave and Guildford Rd in Maylands. There is no need to buy memberships or commit to training and numbers average about 20-30 people. It is $7 to play and totally free to watch. OUTDANCE
After celebrating their eighth birthday last month, OUTDANCE is getting ready for their first open social dance on Saturday, May 30. Called Take Me On The Floor, the event promises a DJ, floorshow and raffles and will be held at the Mt Hawthorn Community Centre, where OUTDANCE also has same-sex dance lessons every Tuesday night from 6.30 pm. Tickets are $12 presale or $15 on the door, BYO drinks and nibbles. WA WANDERERS
On Sunday, May 17 WA Wanderers will be hosting their monthly walk. This month they will be taking a 12-14km route through the forested ridges and vales of the Dwellingup area, including part of the Bibbulmun Trail. The group will gather on the verandah of the Dome Café, corner of Oxford and Vincent Streets, Leederville at 8.30am for a 9am departure.
