Jenny Owen YoungsUS folk singer Jenny Owen Youngs has declared that she is ‘super gay’ in an open letter to her fans.  The singer is best known for her hit song ‘F**k Was I’.

The letter was posted on the web site Everyone Is Gay  and Owens confessed that she didn’t want to come out wishing that her sexuality was a non-issue.

The singer said rather than thinking about the fact she is gay she’d rather be climbing a tree, reading a book or writing a song, and noted that she wished being gay was insignificant has the colour of your hair or whether your left or right handed.

In the letter Youngs discussed how her rural upbringing and religious family had affected her approach towards discussing her sexuality and her belief that her personal life should not over shadow her work as a musician. The singer also announced she would marry her partner Kristin Russo, one of the creators of the ‘Everyone is Gay’ website, later this year.
