Magic Mike Heads to Broadway

Magic Mike‘Magic Mike’ is set to become a Broadway musical.

The popular 2012 film to be adapted into a stage musical according to deadline.com with ‘Glee’ writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa creating the story and Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey writing the songs.

The films director Stephen Soderberg and star Channing Tatum will serve as producers. A sequel to the film is also in the works but it is unlikely to have Soderberg at the helm, he’s announced that ‘Behind the Candelabra’, which is current screening in Australian cinemas, would be his last film.

‘Magic Mike’ is not the first strip themed film to make the leap to Broadway. In 2000 the British film ‘The Full Monty’ was given a makeover and turned into a musical.
