Stephen Fry to Marry

FryStephen Fry has confirmed that he will wed his partner Elliot Spencer.

The acclaimed writer, actor, thinker, TV host had hoped for a quiet private affair but the news leaked.

Fry took to Twitter to thank everyone for their good wishes, “Oh. It looks as if a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I’m very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat Chance!”

“Thank you all SO much for your kind congratulations. Deeply touched xxx.”

The 57 year old ‘QI’ presenter began dating Spencer, 27, last year.

No date has been set for the wedding but the couple registered their intention to marry at a registry office in Dereham, Norfolk on December 23rd.

Fry reportedly began dating Spencer, a stand up comedian, in 2014 and their engagement comes after a whirlwind romance.
