Paris is Magic Fails to Cast a Spell

ZE PHOTOGRAPHY‘Paris is Magic’ is a show from illusionist Jean-Luc, who over an hour delivers a variety of magical tricks built around a trip through the streets of Paris.

The Hellenic Centre in Northbridge was packed full n the shows opening night, but many of the seats in room had a limited view of the performance, which was challenging.

Jean-Luc makes flowers and candlestick appear and disappear, levitates tables and successfully saws one of his assistants in half. This is an old fashioned magic show.

At times this show felt awkward and clumsy. There were moments where things didn’t quite run smoothly. The interaction with audience was forced and disappointingly the performer struggled to find anyone other than children willing to head on stage to take part in the show.

This is might make a fine outing for a family night of entertainment but compared to the other shows on offer at Fringe World this one lacked innovation and energy.

‘Paris is Magic’ is on until February 9th. Grab tickets at www.fringeworld.com.au
