Intersex

A group of interex people shared their experiences and answered some common questions about what it’s like to be intersex in a video from BuzzFeed.

The video features Pidgeon Pagonis, Emily Quinn,  artist Sean Saifa Wall and Alice Alvarez, all of whom are members of Inter/Act, a youth group for people with intersex conditions.

In the video, the activists shared their intersex conditions and how they identify. Instersex conditions can be widely varied, and according to the video, one in every two thousand people are born intersex.

The video also goes on to cover how being intersex is different from being transgender, and how intersex people are frequently made to undergo unnecessary surgeries before they are old enough to give informed consent.
