Hot Chocolate's Errol Brown Dead at 71

Errol Brown, the lead singer of British band Hot Chocolate has passed away aged 71.

The singer, who was born in Jamaica and moved to the United Kingdom as a child enjoyed a string of successful hits in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Among the bands big hits were ‘You Sexy Thing’, ”Everyone’s a Winner’, ‘Heavens in the Back Seat of My Cadillac’ and ‘It Started with a Kiss’.

The band’s biggest hit ‘You Sexy Thing’ returned to the charts in both the 80’s and ’90s.Most recently it was bolstered by its inclusion in the film ‘The Full Monty’.

Brown also performed at the wedding reception of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. In 2003 the singer was awarded an MBE by the Queen.

The singer passed away at his home in Jamaica, he had been battling liver cancer.
