Barnett Denies Discrimination
Last month, Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett questioned why the gay community wanted same-sex marriage. Barnett told audiences on 92.9FM on Thursday November 17 that he didn’t have a problem with civil or legal agreements. ‘I don’t think I’m old fashioned… I have a view that marriage is between a man and a woman,’ Barnett said. He went on to state, ‘I think discrimination has disappeared. It was there, and there was terrible discrimination in the past’.
