Kylie vs Kylie; Minogue beats Jenner in trademark case

Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once Tour 2014After a legal battle spanning four years, Kylie Minogue has won a legal battle against Kylie Jenner for the right to trademark the name ‘Kylie’.

Jenner attempted to obtain legal dominion over the moniker in 2014, as Minogue took to the courts to dispute the matter.

The US Patent and Trademark Office received a letter from Minogue’s legal team, arguing that Jenner is not eligible for the trademark as “a secondary reality television personality.”

Though Jenner’s application has been refused, it is reported that she has launched an appeal against the decision.

Minogue’s win comes as news emerges she is set to split with her fiancee Joshua Sasse, who made headlines when he launched the Say I Do Down Under campaign last year.

The pair were set to hold off on their wedding until marriage equality was a reality in Australia.

Kylie is also believed to be releasing a new album later this year, along with her range of eyewear with retail chain Specsavers.
