A new item has been listed to the long list of banned items in the country. Recently added item 1407 lists images showing; “the supposed nonstandard sexual orientation of the president of the Russian Federation”.

The punishment for displaying or sharing the images can include long stretches behind bars.

The images of the President in drag began appearing after Russian introduced new laws in 2013 that outlawed the promotion or depiction of homosexuality in public, or areas where children may be exposed.
