SCENE Out with Panache – May

Hello my sweets,

Something I am extremely excited about is this year’s Genderfuck Ball! This year it will be held at Bar 138 on Barrack St, Saturday May 7 from 7pm. For those of you who haven’t attended one of these before, think tight leathered outfits, see through garments, torn stockings and fierce makeup. Duchess Silk is your hostess, along with a pleasing cast of entertainers including myself, to showcase a few androgynous numbers that assure to please you.

Just up the road is that venue we adore so much, The Court. Fridays make for a great night out, time to dance and drink those problems away. No better atmosphere in Perth, it’s the sure place to start and end your night. Saturdays just fill and fill with young hot boys and fit pretty girls. Rub up against your choice of stud while you dance to the tunes of the night! If this is all a bit too hot for you drop by during the week when things cool down. They serve pizza, pasta, wine and beer. You can take your table number on out to the beer garden while chatting to those long lost friends in the breeze, or inside the front bar you have two plasmas to keep you entertained, with the hottest clips out.

There’s been some controversy at The Court though, a memo from Management was found that says Drag Queens who perform the same song twice within 12 months will be banned from performing for 6 months. It turns out it was all a bit of a false alarm though… the memo was actually for the DJ’s.

Connections is still pumping and almost everyone has recovered from Tim Brown’s massive 20th anniversary. On the weekend hit that dance floor and mingle on that terrace, you are sure to have a grand night! However, if that’s not enough to tempt you, they have a Burlesque show coming soon, and my oh my, from what I’ve heard it promises to be truly entertaining!

OK, I was kidding about the Court memo being for the DJ’s, it turns out it is actually a really old memo from the 90’s, it was easy to tell it’s age, on the other side of the page it asked queens to stop dressing like Whitney, Mariah and Gloria all the time.

For even more excitement down in Northbridge head to the Blue Room Theatre! That’s right, the Blue Room has opened its theatre doors for the 2011 season Up Close. The season launch held press, VIP’s and members in laughter, excitement, joy and admiration! It was a sensational start to the new year indeed. All eight shows this season are filled with wild concepts and crazy ideas, with many well known artists, writers and producers on board. Make sure you check out www.blueroom.org.au to book your tickets. I will see you there in July, starring in DRAG, alongside Australian diva Swish, supermodel Ivy, internationally funny Aria, girly Elixir and new comer Kodi! So many queens in one show… what is six times eighty anyway?
