Radar have claimed to have an copy of the upcoming release, writing that Jenner purports DeGeneres manipulated their interview to omit sections that showed her as a supporter of marriage equality.

“I believed, as anyone would, that that was exactly what she wanted to talk about – my progressing in terms of changing attitude over the years,” Jenner writes.

“At first I was not for [marriage equality]. I thought, I’m a traditionalist. I’m older than most people in the audience. I kinda like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman. And I’m thinking, I don’t quite get it.”

Jenner says she was speaking about how her opinion on the matter had evolved over time, and claims it was skewed in the interview.

“I don’t ever want to stand in front of someone’s happiness. That’s not my job,” Jenner said to DeGeneres in the segment.

After DeGeneres explains why the word marriage matters to her, Jenner says the conversation is edited to move on to cut out more she had to say on the issue.

“I am for it. I did not initially understand why marriage was so important, influenced no doubt by my own personal experience,” Jenner writes.

“Now I do, and it’s a wonderful thing to see.”

DeGeneres spoke out about the interview with Jenner on The Howard Stern Show after it’s airing in 2015.

“You’re wanting people to understand and accept you, and this is really confusing to people and you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage,” DeGeneres told Stern.

“I don’t know her, and I’m trying to understand it because I don’t fully understand it either, but I also want everyone to be happy.”

DeGeneres is currently celebrating 20 years since coming out on the cover of TIME magazine, in conjunction with an interview on Oprah and her character’s historic coming out on her sitcom, Ellen.
