Forever Crazy: A night of neon incendiary naughtiness

For 65 years Crazy Horse has been a Parisian institution where some of the world’s most beautiful women undress to impress.

Fashion designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin have collaborated over the the years to create the barely-there costumes and killer heels that clad this troupe of classically trained dancers as they get their strut on.

Encompassing cabaret, burlesque, comedy and erotica, Forever Crazy blends these elements together bathed in a lighting display that will blow your corneas as well as your mind. The precision choreography and pounding soundtrack of show tunes and contemporary artists like Britney Spears and INXS make for a sensual sensory experience.

It’s a two hour licentious display of tits, ass and the art of the tease. While not one of the ladies has her religion on display, make no mistake this cavalcade of Palace Guards, Vegas showgirls and frisky financiers panties drop faster than the Dow Jones in a financial crisis.

Somewhat ironically a strict chic and stylish dress code is required of the audience and on opening night the self diagnosed “Perthonalities” came out in force in their botoxed, Hollywood taped, Maserati’d and Manolo’d finery to see but mostly be seen in a red carpet spectacle that was almost as entertaining as the show itself.

Full disclosure: Myself and my stylish plus one succumbed to the spirit of the occasion and worked that red carpet like we were Liz Hurley in a safety pin dress. It’s not a cheap night out with tickets starting at $100 it is an intoxicating experience that elevates sleaze to the sublime.

Crazy Forever runs until September 23 at the Crown Theatre.
