Looking Back: Families 4 Freedom's Valentine's Day Rally 2010

Back in February 2010 Families 4 Freedom held a rally for marriage equality.

The rally started in Supreme Court Gardens before a march around the city. Musicians played, there were speeches from community members and politicians.

A few months earlier a rally in the city had drawn a small but dedicated crowd, but in February 2010, the number of people calling out for marriage equality was rapidly growing.

We delved into the archives and found these pictures from the rally, were you there?

Take a trip back in time and see what was going on seven years ago.

Now seven years later the polls are showing that up to 70% of Australians support marriage equality, but we’re not there yet. We’re still fighting.

Yes!Festival is on this Saturday October 7th from 1pm in Russell Square, Northbridge.
