Tom Ballard questions Miranda Devine

Comedian Tom Ballard has posted a YouTube video that challenges statements made by writer Miranda Devine in her latest column that was published in Sunday newspapers across the country.

In her opinion piece in News Ltd Sunday papers, including Perth’s Sunday Times, the conservative columnist draws a link between gay Finance Minister Penny Wong’s announcement that her partner is expecting a baby, the push for marriage equality and the recent London riots.

Devine describes the London riots as ‘the manifestation of a father less society’ and states ‘what prevents social chaos and the underclass is an intact family. What keeps children safe is an intact family, with a father in the home.’

In his response video Triple J Breakfast host Ballard works his way through Devine’s piece challenging her beliefs and assertions, regularly asking, ‘What the fuck?’
