Described as having a “glittering coloratura voice”, Emma Matthews brings her incredible vocal control, agility and vast expressive range to ravishing songs and spectacular arias by Rossini, Duparc and Bernstein in Glitter and Be Gay, a program of exceptional operatic and orchestral music.

The concerts also feature the Faith Court Orchestra under the baton of Peter Moore OAM performing Claude Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, Giacomo Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville and, to celebrate the centenary year of Leonard Bernstein’s birth, the famous Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. Matthews will pay tribute to Bernstein with her stunning rendition of the beloved aria, Glitter and Be Gay, from Candide.

Glitter and Be Gay will be performed on Friday 11 May at All Saints’ College Centre for Performing Arts at 7.30pm; on Saturday 12 May at Perth College’s Judith Cottier Theatre at 7.30pm; and on Sunday 13 May at the Churchlands Senior High School Concert Hall at 3.00pm.

Tickets available by telephoning (08) 9370 6895 or online at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts
