The legendary reggae band – who earlier this year released A Real Labour Of Love, their most successful album for 25 years – will play three Australian dates in the Gold Coast, Perth and Dunsborough. Tickets for all shows go on sale Tuesday 3rd July 2018.

With 2019 marking 40 years since UB40 first performed live, the reggae band will be celebrating with a greatest hits set that features global smashes including Red Red Wine, Cherry Oh Baby, Rat In Mi Kitchen and Kingston Town. Ali, Astro & Mickey will be joined on-stage by their incredible eight-piece reggae band.

Currently there are two versions of UB40 touring the world and recording music. Vocalist Ali Campbell left the band in 2008 with Mickey Virtue, a few years later Astro joined them.

Astro chatted to OUTinPerth back in 2014 and said a band was just like a family and it was not unusual for there to be disagreements and fall outs.

“We’ve been through turbulent times, but that’s life. Families have disputes and fall-outs and why should eight friends be exempt. I think we’ve done well to be going for so long, and stuff happens.” Astro said.

Catch UB40 featuring Ali, Mickey and Astro at Headquarter in Helenvale, Queensland on Friday 1st February 2019, before heading to Perth’s Red Hill Auditorium on Saturday 2nd February, and then down Clancy’s in Dunsborough on Sunday 3rd February. Tickets are available via Oz Tix.
