SMH reported that a Sydney based hacker logged in as other Grindr users to change details and profile pics as well as exposing passwords, profile personas, photos and other details on a website. The website was removed following legal action sought by the company on Friday following media enquiries.

Grindr acknowledged security flaws in the app, with Grindr founder Joel Simkhai telling the Herald that ‘We are certainly aware of a lot of these vulnerabilities and … they will be fixed as fast as humanly possible’.

People who are concerned as to whether their account may have been hacked are advised to contact Grindr via their website.
