Donnelly said the track was inspired by the early days of the #metoo movement and comments made by film director Woody Allen.

“I came up with the chords and chorus to this song in 2017 around the time when Woody Allen called the #metoo movement a witch hunt. It was a very strange feeling for me watching the world change right before my eyes and to see that these men who had exploited their power for so long were actually being held accountable for their actions.”

Along with the new single, Donnelly revealed details of her forthcoming debut album when speaking to triple j’s Veronica and Lewis last week.

Due out 8 March, Beware Of The Dogs was recorded in Western Australia with a full band  featuring Jennifer Aslett, Talya Velenti and George Foster. The record has been produced by Dean Tuza  who has previously worked with The Rubens, Kim Churchill and Thelma Plum.

The 13-track release is described as a portrait of Stella taking charge. Donnelly said she very in control while making the new album.

“This album made me feel like I was back in the driver’s seat. It was really liberating and grounding to realise that no one can f**k with this except me.”

Here’s the songs that will feature on the album. 1. Old Man 2. Mosquito 3. Season’s Greetings 4. Allergies 5. Tricks 6. Boys Will Be Boys 7. Lunch 8. Bistro 9. Die 10. Beware of the Dogs 11. U Owe Me 12. Watching Telly, and 13. Face It.
