Fans of 80’s indie band The Stranglers will be excited to hear that frontman Hugh Cornwell is heading down under for a tour that showcases his recent solo album and the classic hits of the much loved indie band.

The Stranglers emerged out of the UK punk scene in the late ’70s, Cornwell was the band’s lead singer and guitarist from their inception until 1990 when he decided to focus on his solo career.

The band are best known for their classic tune Golden Brown, as well as hits like No More Heroes, Always the Sun, Peaches and Skin Deep.

Alongside his musical output Cornwell has also published several books including a memoir about his time in prison for drug possession, a full autobiography, a book about songs and two fiction novels.

The tour of Australia and New Zealand will see Cornwell play songs from his most recent album Monster, before launching into some of those classic tunes from The Stranglers.

The tour kicks of in New Zealand before heading to Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne. The tour’s final show will be at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel.
