Mother’s Daughter is an inclusive feminist anthem, declaring that “every woman is a riot.”

The video stars Cyrus and her own mother, Tish Cyrus, alongside activist Casil McArthur, queer pro-skater Lacey Baker and Aaron Philip – a transgender model living with a disability.

Cyrus, who is married to actor Liam Hemsworth, has spoken out about her own sexuality – saying she is not any less queer for being in a different-gender relationship.

“The reason that people get married sometimes can be old-fashioned, but I think the reason we got married isn’t old-fashioned – I actually think it’s kind of New Age,” Cyrus told Vanity Fair.

“We’re redefining, to be fucking frank, what it looks like for someone that’s a queer person like myself to be in a hetero relationship. A big part of my pride and my identity is being a queer person.”
