The Fremantle Symphony Orchestra return with their second concert of 2019; The Edge Of Forgetting.

The work created by WA composer Lachlan Skipworth makes its premiere in Western Australia this September.

In a program curated by the Orchestra’s Artistic Director, David Pye, the Orchestra will also perform Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 in F Major all under the baton of Dr Paul DeCinque.

On the inclusion of his piece as the title work, Skipworth says he’s “immensely excited that the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra is performing the West Australian premiere of my piece.”

“Being a Perth lad, I grew up in the community orchestras of WA and could think of no more fitting way for my piece to be premiered in Western Australia”.

Mozart’s engaging Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola will feature West Australian soloists Akiko Miyazawa on Violin and Ben Caddy on Viola.

The Fremantle Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra and one of Perth’s most vibrant community groups. The orchestra is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of music in the cultural life of Perth.
