A message from Village People – the ones we know and love

Village People, featuring Ray Simpson, Felipe Rose, Alex Briley, Bill Whitefield, Jim Newman and Eric Anzalone have sent a message to their Australian fans congratulating them on gay marriage becoming a reality in Australia.

The band is currently involved in a legal showdown with an alternative version of the band who are currently touring Australia.

The new version of the group is fronted by original lead singer Victor Willis who quit the band in the late 1970s. The Village People featuring Victor Willis have recieved scathing reviews during their first live show, including one from OUTinPerth.

The line up which has been touring the globe for decades sent a video sharing their excitement at Australia’s recent law changes around marriage equality before launching into a quintessential Aussie tune.
