The City of Fremantle is calling for applications from performers, community groups, arts organisations and others wishing to participate in the Fremantle Festival from November 16-25 this year. The Festival aims to develop a programme of diverse arts and culture events and deliver a cohesive and engaging festival. The winning festival image design will take home $2000. More info is available from Cultural Development Coordinator Lou Westbury via LouW@fremantle.wa.gov.au

IASKA (International Art Space Kellerberrin Australia) are calling for applications for professional artists who are committed to cross-cultural exchange for an Australia Indonesia AIR exchange in late 2007. $10,000 will be available to cover costs of the residency and assist with mounting an exhibition at the end of their stay. The deadline is May 25, email iaska@iinet.net.au for further details.

Fremantle Print Awards

Living Australian artists are invited to submit one print or artist’s book for selection in the 2007 Fremantle Print Award, (prompting some mild curiosity as to whether the competition, now in its 32nd year, has been inundated with non-living artists sneaking in dodgy entries). The acquisitive first prize is worth $10,000, and entries close on June 1. Details at www.fac.org.au
