Australian Christian Lobby: Marriage is the Big Issue of 2015

yay-1075618The Australian Christian Lobby has declared marriage to be the big issue of 2015.

In a post of their website the lobby group argues that reason has been abandoned in the marriage equality debate as it become socially acceptable to support same sex couples desire to wed.

The group claims that many people only publicly support marriage equality because they fear being labeled ‘irrelevant or dinosaurs’.

The ACL calls on it’s members to lobby the Liberal and National parties and pressure them to resist pressure to allow a conscience vote arguing that if LNP politicians are able to make their own choice they will not be able to resist pressure from the media and LGBTIQ lobby groups.

The group also highlights there is a movement with the Labor party to make the parties policy supporting marriage equality a binding policy, which would not allow Labor members a conscience vote.

Finally the ACL highlights that the new Chief Minister in the ACT is openly gay and a supporter of marriage equality.
