Boy George Returns as Dharma Queen

Boy George Yellow shot (3) by MAGNUS HASTINGS-001Boy George has a new musical project called Dharma Queen. The dance orientated project features Boy George, fellow Culture Club member Mikey Craig, Youth and Danny Harrison.

The new track is called ‘Coming Home’ and nine different mixes will be available soon. The track is credited as Dharma Queen featuring a boy called George.

“’Coming Home’ is about returning to who you really are as a person,” George said in a statement. “Some people grow further away from themselves as they get older, while others like me become who they are meant to be. Right now I feel very comfortable in my skin.”

George has been working on a new album with Craig and Youth and this track was produced from the same sessions but is much more dance orientated.

Who is in Dharma Queen?

Boy George: The lead singer of Culture Club has had a successful solo career and works regularly as a club DJ. George has had a number of musical side projects including being part of electronic band Jesus Loves You and putting out electro records as Yum Yum.

Mikey Craig: Mikey Craig was George’s band mate in Culture Club and continues to perform with the often reforming band. In the 1990’s he ran a successful record label. Aside from being in Culture Club he also plays in a tribute band called Culture Dub.

Youth: MartinYouth’ Glover is one of the UK’s most sought after music producers. Bassist for post punk band Killing Joke, he has produced records for many artists including Erasure, Dido, Beth Orton and The Orb. He’s also been working with Missy Higgins on her next LP. Together with Paul McCartney he has a project called ‘The Fireman’.

Danny Harrison: Harrison works as a DJ under the name Bobby Blanco, with his partner Miki Moto (Arthur Smith) they’re known as Moto Blanco. They’ve remixed tunes for Bananarama, Jennifer Lopez, George Michael, Will Young, Lady Gaga and a stack of other people.
