Celebrate Latin American cinema with Cine Vivo this weekend

Cine Vivo Perth Independent Latino American Film Festival showcases short films and takes you to the rooftops for a Cuban celebration this weekend.

On Friday 30th November it’s time for the annual showcase of short film from around the world. Featuring both documentaries and fictional works that explore the issues of human rights and migration, the compilation also includes locally made WA films, highlighting  the relevance of these subjects in our own backyard.

The films will be accompanied by a live performance of music from across Latin America and mouth watering Brazilian fusion cuisine.

Program includes WA’s own Same Drum which screened at Rev earlier this year. Attendees are encouraged to come along and vote for their favourites.

On Saturday 1st December the festival will transport you to the rooftops of Perth for an evening in Cuba. Vestido De Novia (His Wedding Dress) takes you to Havana where details from a woman’s past life threaten her marriage.

And it’s time to salsa so bring your dancing shoes for the best Cuban band in town, Son De Cuba as you enjoy our special new venue with cinema amongst the stars at Rooftop Movies in the heart of Northbridge.
