Cult film director John Waters is set to visit Perth later this year with his one man show This Filthy World. Waters filmography includes underground hits Pink Flamingos, Cry Baby, and Hairspray. His films have been important stepping stones in the careers of Divine, Ricky Lake and Johnny Depp.
In October Waters will kick of a national tour starting in Perth. Through his monologue Waters will touch on his artistic influences including true crime, fashion, exploitation films and the extremes of modern art.
Alongside his filmic work Waters, who is openly gay, is a long term supporter of gay pride organisations and gay rights activists. Waters will be appearing for one night only at The Perth Concert Hall on Wednesday October 19.
