‘Setting Them Straight’ (pictured) is made by local Perth filmmaker Kaleb McKenna. It tells the story of a young guy named Joshua who has arrived at his parent’s house with some delicate news.

It’s not as if they weren’t loving and accepting parents, it’s just that they’ve been a little too understanding of Joshua’s homosexuality, and now they might actually like him better because of it. The problem: Joshua isn’t actually gay.

Also on the bill is the hilarious ‘Oh Be Joyful’ (pictured below) is about a grandmother determined to find a girlfriend for her closeted granddaughter.

These will screen alongside the festival’s best International Short Film Winner ‘Balcony’ and a stack of other great short films.

Flickerfest is on from March 3-6 at the Camelot Outdoor Cinema
