Christian Rippel featuring Boto and Todd James
There’s something quite mesmerising about this track, especially Boto’s Japanese vocals. Rippel is a yoga practicioner and actor who hosts guided dance events in his native Berlin. While Boto is a former Perth resident who know lives in the city.
Natalie Imbruglia – Beautiful Love
The video for Natalie Imbruglia’s new track Beautiful Love was shot and edited entirely on her iPhone. The track is from her new album Algorithm. The car at the start of the video was the first car Imbruglia ever bought new, she’s owned it since 1998 and is she’s so attached to it.
ADÉLA – Nicole Kidman
Slovak singer Adéla has out out the second single from her forthcoming debut album and its named after Australian actor Nicole Kidman. Kidman has reacted to the song and confirmed she’s got tickets to see the singer when she performs in Nashville. Could we make a playlist of songs named after actors, Vitabeats – Audrey Hepburn, Self – Meg Ryan, Duck Sauce – Barbara Streisand, Mika – Grace Kelly, SZA – Drew Barrymore – got any others?
TEN – OUTWEST
A former member of Korean band NCT, Ten has released this solo work that incorporates hip hop and tech house elements. The Thai music star will kick of a 10 date tour of the USA this October, and he’s celebrating a decade of working in the music industry. In an interview with Variety he said his creative instincts have remained the same. “My goal of exploring different music genres and vocal styles hasn’t changed at all,” he said. “I still get excited every time I receive a new song or get the chance to write something new with my producer friends.”
Ladyhawke – Bad To The Bone
It’s been five years since we heard from New Zealand artist Ladyhawke and its a welcomed return. In an interview with Rolling Stone she recently shared that being angry at the world treiggered to make a new album.
““As a queer person, you start to feel smaller and smaller, so you need to make yourself bigger and bigger. It’s frustrating, and I’m so sick of it. I didn’t know what to do. I just thought, why not make a record and express that I’m at this time in my life where I’m in my forties?” she said.
Priyanka featuring Lemon – Call Me Babe
Winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Canada, Priyanka has a new track and she’s collaborating again with fellow contestant Lemon. Lemon’s rap is really quite something.
Lisa – SaWaDiKa
Actor and BLACKPINK member Lalisa Manobal has come out strong with this new track that racked up over 70 million views within a few days of it being released. The video is a celebration of her homeland Thailand. For those who don’t speak Thai, the title is the Thai word for hello or sawasdee kha. In Thai words have different suffixes if said by male or females, men would say sawasdee khrap.
Luca George – Ashes
This is the third song London-based artist Luca George has released this year, with a forthcoming EP due soon. Luca Geroge shared the background on the new track.
“I wrote Ashes around this really simple idea of being with someone while the entire world is burning around you. I always pictured this post-apocalyptic landscape the two of us sitting together while the room, the house, everything outside is going up in flames. It’s kind of cliché, but it’s about a love that feels stronger than the world ending. Everything else could disappear, humanity could cease to exist, and somehow none of it would matter as long as I was there with that person. That’s really what the song comes down to: heaven and hell could be the same, and I’d go through all of it again if it meant being with you in the end.”
Saint Micah – Papillon
Now under a new moniker Micah McLaurin has shared a new track.
“Papillon, French for butterfly, is inspired by the feeling of getting butterflies in your stomach when you like someone new. I’ve had this experience a few times and I think many other people have, too,” Saint Micah shared. “I love the beautiful French-inspired piano bridge. It gives me butterflies.”
