WA’s Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence from the Abbey of the Black Swan are joining forces with the Abbey of the Recalcitrant Possum (Melbourne) to organise a Sydney New Mardi Gras float honouring HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. Princess Mary has been granted Sainthood by the Order of Perpetual Indulgence for the occasion. According to a statement released by the Sisters, the float, entitled Give LOVE a Chance, aims to celebrate the positive impact that marriage can have on international relations as well as parodying right wing elements, particularly in the Catholic Church, that have criticized gay marriage and homosexuality.
