KISS Club add second show loaded with LGBTIQ+ artists

pvi collective and Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) have announce a second show for KISS Club since selling out the original event.

The annual event hosted by tactical media arts group pvi collective and PICA allows practitioners to test new work in development in front of an audience of peers, industry professionals and the public – and then get immediate feedback on what they have presented.

This year six artists and works will be included, including a number of LGBTIQ+ creators.

Adam Bennett will explore environmental degradation and political upheaval through his work Goodbye / Hello, artist Daley King who performs under the moniker Queer and Loathing will look into the history of lipstick with his work Lipstuck, while Jacinta Larcombe will present Slut Drop a theatrical storytelling performance that draws upon her experiences of working in a strip club.

Elizabeth Pedler will showcase Dark Contrast a performance that will out lighting in the hands of the audience, while Jen Jamieson will venture into the world of mental health with This Is Not (Personal), finally Patrick Gunasekera will look ant inappropriate cultural appropriation with A Decolonial History of the Avant-Garde.

Created by Sydney based artist Karen Therese, KISS Club has been presented by pvi collective since 2010, since 2016 the event has been presented in collaboration with PICA.

Tickets for the September 13th night have sold out and a second night has now been added on Thursday 12th September.

KISS Club is at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th September. Tickets are available from www.pica.org.au
