Kylie Minogue to celebrate 25 years of ‘Fever’ with special editions

Kylie Minogue will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her album Fever with special new CD and vinyl editions featuring remixes and B-sides.

Fever arrived in 2001 on the back of Kylie’s comeback album Light Years, which saw her return to the top of the charts with a succession of hit singles including “Spinning Around”, “On a Night Like This”, “Your Disco Needs You” and “Kids”. Fever kept the momentum going and included a song that would become one of Minogue’s signature hits.

“Can’t Get You Out of My Head” topped charts around the world and became one of the defining pop songs of the early 2000s. The track was written by Cathy Dennis and Rob Davis. Dennis had moved into songwriting after enjoying a successful pop career of her own.

Before the song reached Kylie’s door, it had reportedly been rejected by S Club 7 and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Kylie would later pass on another Dennis-penned track, “Toxic”, which went on to become a major hit for Britney Spears.

Also featured on Kylie’s eighth studio album were “In Your Eyes”, “Love at First Sight” and “Come Into My World”, while many of the album tracks remain fan favourites.

The new edition will include the B-side tracks “Boy”, “Tightrope”, “Rendezvous at Sunset”, “Good Like That”, “Never Spoken”, “Harmony” and “Baby”. It will also feature remixes including “Love at First Sight (Twin Master Plan Mix)”, “In Your Eyes (Roger Sanchez Release the Dub Mix)” and “Can’t Get Blue Monday Out of My Head”.

One track previously associated with the Fever sessions does not appear on the new release. “Whenever You Feel Like It” was included on a previous deluxe edition of the album and also featured on the soundtrack to Scooby-Doo.

Alongside the new editions of the record, Kylie has also stocked her online store with a wide range of Fever XXV merchandise.
