In WA tennis the League Pennants Competition came to a close. Loton Tennis Club had a strong performance with their Division II mixed doubles team and women’s over 35s reaching the semi-finals. Loton will hold their Club Championships on April 14-15 and 21-22. For further information, contact Michelle Rigg 04 1894 2231.

The State Basketball League kicked off its season with a full weekend of games March 30th-April 1st. In the women’s league, results were as follows: Rockingham (57) def. Bunbury (47), Mandurah (63) def. East Perth (42), Stirling (63) def. Willetton (56), Geraldton (77) def. Wanneroo (60), Stirling (78) def. Perry Lakes (61), Perth (71) def. Rockingham (65), and Willetton (93) def. Bunbury (45).

West Australian Women’s Cricket League ended its season this month. In the A Grade, the Melville Women bested Subiaco Marist in the 44th over to win by 133 runs. Melville also won the B Grade grand final, defeating South Perth.

The Barbarians, a combined WA/NT side, made a good showing at the National Touch League Championships in Coffs Harbour. The Women’s Open side and the Men’s 30’s both reached the semi-finals.
