Loton Park Holds SGM on Club's Future

On February 16, Loton Park Tennis Club held a members-only Special General Meeting to discuss the future of the only GLBT-run sporting club in Australia. Loton Park has identified the need to increase the club’s revenue by $15,000-20,000 per annum to continue to operate. At the meeting different revenue-generating strategies were discussed, including: organised social tennis on Sundays and in winter, a ‘Dinner Club’, more social events, member incentives and public hire of the grass courts. Loton Park is currently offering discounted mid-season memberships ($195, concession $165 – additional $50 discount for helping with social tennis). Loton Park will hold a second SGM on March 8.
