Where does your love of energetic vocal house come from?

It comes from so many different places, but generally – the music I play represents me! Anyone who knows me, knows that I’m always FULL of energy, bouncing off the walls and doing 100 things at once. I believe this comes through in my music!

This will be your first appearance at Connections, what have you heard about the southern hemisphere’s longest running gay club?

You know what, it’s also my first visit to Perth, and WA at all! I’ve heard that the Connections crew are great, and the patrons are amazing! 39 years is such a long time, it’s great to hear about establishments that are so committed to our community! I’ve also heard Perth is the most beautiful city in Australia – so I’m excited to see it!

Which tune is your; ‘In Emergency Break Glass’ tune?

Oh my, there are SO many! (I actually have a whole playlist of these tracks). Generally in my sets I like to come in and just pump out energy from the first track. I would have to say that my latest re-edit/mashup ‘Work it, Sex Shooter’ which is a mashup of Missy Elliot & Cahill – it always gets hands in the air. It’s available on my Soundcloud page. I have a few secret weapons though – I can’t give away all my secrets!

Your Facebook page says you’re single, what should boys in Perth focus on to get your attention?

Good question! Many different things can float my boat but a sexy smile and lots of energy on the dance floor helps get noticed

What tunes are always in your crate at the moment?

At the moment I’m frothing over Jason Chance’s new track “Ain’t Nobody”, Jess Glynne’s new hit “Right Here” and DJ Jimmy Dee’s new re-edit of I’m Every Woman – you’ll have to come along on the 16th to hear it! As the guys at ARIA know, my top 20 chart changes every week, so just tune in to OX Live Gay Radio every Friday at 7pm (AEST) and listen to my show to find out!

Mason Andrews plays Connections Nightclub on Saturday August 16th.
