New Zealand speed skater Blake Skjellerup yesterday revealed that he is engaged after carrying the torch at the Gay Games in Cleveland Ohio.

The athlete is competing in the 23 mile cycling circuit road course event. Skjellerup competed in the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, after which he publicly came out about his sexuality.

Following the Gay Games opening ceremony, for which he was the final torch bearer, he announced his engagement to partner Saul Carrasco over Instagram:

Carrasco is a stylist and blogger for TrendStyled. The pair have tentative plans to marry in Hawaii next year.
