PRIDE- Fairday 2009!

The 20th Annual Pride WA Festival kicks off with the biggest Pride event – Fairday 2009.
After the huge success of last year, this year promises even more with more entertainment, a larger licensed area, more stalls and more fun for everyone. We’ll also be staying open until 9pm for 3 extra hours of entertainment!

The gates are open at 11am as normal. All your favourite stalls will be there, as well as the bouncy castle and animal farm for the kids.

Our huge entertainment roster kicks off as soon as the doors open including the dog show, some of your favourite entertainers such as Nat Ripepi and Kyle Dessent, as well as new additions such as Dean Misdale.

And to fit with this year’s theme of Homecoming, former Perthite Bar-B-Q Coals will be back to tread the boards and help host your favourite day.

Then at 6pm the unlicensed area will close, so that the party can really get started in the James Street half of the Square with DJs Seb Sharp, Johnni P and more.

Perth’s biggest and proudest picnic just turned in to Perth’s biggest party. Get there early to secure your spot. And if you want to drop off your picnic gear before you pick up your party boots, then don’t fear – your wrist band will allow you to come and go as you please between 11am and 9pm.

Tickets are $5 for Pride members and $10 for non-members. To avoid any confusion and/or disappointment, please be advised children are not permitted in the licensed area. This is a term of our City of Perth License for the event.

Getting involved

Whether you want to have a stall or help out on the day – there’s still time.

Whilst stalls are filling up quickly there are still some available if you are interested in showcasing your service or your wares at Fairday 2009.

Fairday stalls offer great exposure to a huge cross section of not only our community but the wider community too, with over 7,000 people passing through the gates on the day. Information about obtaining a stall at Fairday 2009 is available on the Pride website www.pridewa.asn.au.

After Party

We know staying open until 9pm will keep most of you satisfied – but for those insatiable Fairday party animals there’s more.

The Connections Nightclub Sideshow will keep all the fun of the fair going into the public holiday on Monday.

Clowns, crazy mirrors, face painters, fire breathers and the opening of a new show – Glamourous – starring Val-Nourished, Sandy Beaches & Giselle.

Doors open at 9pm, and for the wallet-wary, entry is just $10 all night.

The 2009 Pride ‘Homecoming’ Festival is shaping up to be bigger than ever before. Block out October and don’t miss your first chance to grab the full festival guide at Fairday2009 and start booking away.

And there’s more to come…. Stay tuned for a very special party announcement!
