The feature from director Kerem Sanga stars Dylan Gelula (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Xanthippe) as a teenage misfit who would rather hang with her best pal Cliff than try to fit in, and Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool) as the athletic and popular Sasha.

When the girls realise their crushes on one another are not one-sided, their world collide and implode in unexpected and dramatic ways.

The award-winning film has been lauded in US reviews as “a sophisticated and complex teenage coming of age story” in The Playlist and named “The Best Lesbian-themed Film of 2016” by GO Magazine.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to LGBTIQ youth organisation, Freedom Centre.

First Girl I Loved is playing at Event Cinemas Innaloo on Wednesday May 24 from 7pm. Tickets and more information available from filmink.com.au
