Rugby player Michael Moses, who plays for the West Tiger’s under 20’s team, has been suspended for two matches after he referred to another player as a, “f**king gay c**t”.
The slur was directed at Queensland player Nathan Bateman was captured on live TV and heard by an estimated 100,000 viewers.
Moses apologised to both the games tribunal panel and Bateman. The tribunal said the Moses will be required to attend a course on discrimination with a particular emphasis on homophobia.
The NRL recently signed up to a new charter to reduce discrimination in sport alongside the AFL, Cricket Australia and Rugby Union.
