Variety have reported that Silver Foxes is being pitched as a 30-minute sitcom that follows the lives of two older gay men and their friends younger lover on a mission to save their friend who have been shoved back into the closet in his elder care facility.

The trio bring him back to their home in Palm Springs and the quartet stay together under one roof; a la Golden Girls.

Last year, the production team held a table read of the already-written pilot with potential cast members Leslie Jordan, Bruce Vilanch, George Takei, Todd Sherry and former Saturday Night Live star Cheri Oteri. It is notable that each of the actors who have read for the lead roles identify as gay themselves.

The series is expected to be released on US cable television or an online streaming platform.
